|
Vomiting is the violent process of ejecting stomach content through the mouth. Certain types of OTC antihistamines may relieve some symptoms of nausea and vomiting. Dimenhydrate, diphenhydramine, meclizine, and cyclizine are generic names for these antihistamines. Some common brand name products are Dramamine, Benadryl, Bonine, Dramamine ll, and Marezine. Pregnant women should not take OTC nausea medications without first checking with their physician. Oral rehydration therapy may be necessary if prolonged vomiting has caused dehydration. Products such as Kao Lectrolyte and Pedialyte help restore several of the body's chemicals lost through vomiting or diarrhea. |
