Gluehwein

Adults in Germany enjoy Gluehwein on St. Nikolaus Day.

Prep: 10 min, Cook: 10 min.
  • 2 cups red wine
  • 2 ounces sugar
  • 1/3 cup water, optional
  • 3/4 cinnamon stick
  • 2 cloves
  • 3/4 sugar cube, soaked in liqueur
  • 3/4 strip orange zest
  • 1-1/4 lemon slices

Combine all ingredients in a pot and and simmer on low heat only for about 10 minutes. (Do not boil.) Add lemon slices and serve.
