Chocolate Tiramisu
From Half-Baked Gourmet: Desserts by Tamara Holt
Prep: 25 min, Cook: 5 min, plus chilling time.
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup coffee
  • 1/2 cup coffee flavored liqueur
  • 1 package (7 ounces) savoiardi biscuits (ladyfingers)
  • 1 envelope powdered chocolate drink mix, for dusting

In a medium saucepan, heat heavy cream until almost boiling. Place chocolate chips in a large bowl. Pour cream over chocolate chips. Stur until smooth and chill until cold, about 1 hour.

In a large bowl, whip the chilled cream mixture with an electric mixer on medium speed until just stiff.

In a small bowl, stir together the coffee and liqueur. One at a time, dip half of each biscuit into the coffee mixture and arrange in a single layer to cover the bottom of a 10x10 inch glass baking dish. Spread with half the cream. Repeat layers with the remaining biscuits, coffee mixture, and cream mixture.

Refrigerate at least 6 hours, or overnight. To serve, sprinkle top with the powdered chocolate drink mix, cut into squares, and place on serving plates.
