Bison Cornish Pasties
Prep: 15 min, Cook: 1:20.
  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium turnip, peeled and diced
  • 2 ready-made pie crusts, at room temperature
  • 1/2 lb. top sirloin bison steak, 1 inch thick, chopped

Preheat oven to 425°F. Mix chopped vegetables together and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Fold each pastry out into 2 large circles. Place half the vegetables on one half of each circle and put meat on top.

Dampen edges of pastry and fold over, pressing edges together well. Put pastries on a baking sheet and bake 20 minutes, then reduce oven temperature to 350°F and bake 1 hour.
