Preheat waffle iron. Combine first 4 ingredients and egg yolks in a bowl. Mix thoroughly. Sift dry ingredients together in a bowl. Stir into milk mixture until mixed thoroughly. Fold in beaten egg whites. When hot, lightly brush waffle iron surface with oil. Ladle about 3/4 cup batter per waffle onto waffle iron. Close cover and bake 4-5 minutes or until iron stops steaming. Open cover and use fork to remove waffle. Continue with remaining batter. Serve immediately with desired toppings or keep warm in 200°F oven. This recipe serves 6 people. Due to the nature of this recipe, it adjusts the number of servings in multiples of 6 only.
