Sausage and Canadian Bacon Pizza
Prep: 30 min, Cook: 20 min.
  • 1/2 lb. bulk pork sausage
  • 1/3 cup green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 3/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 12 inch pizza crust
  • 1-1/2 cups purchased pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 ounces Canadian bacon
  • 8 fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, seeded and sliced into rings
  • 1/4 cup red bell pepper, chopped

Preheat oven to 450°F. Heat a heavy nonstick skillet over medium high heat. Sauté sausage and next 3 ingredients 8-10 minutes, until meat is browned, stirring to crumble. Drain well on paper towels. Spread sauce over pizza crust, leaving a 1/2 inch border around edges. Combine cheeses in a bowl. Sprinkle half of cheese over pizza sauce. Spoon half of sausage mixture onto pizza. Layer Canadian bacon, mushroom slices and green pepper rings on top. Sprinkle with remaining sausage and chopped red pepper. Bake 10 minutes. Top with the remaining shredded cheese and bake another 10 minutes.
