Preheat oven to 250°F. Cover cookie sheets with parchment paper. Beat egg whites, vanilla and salt with an electric mixer at high speed until frothy. Gradually add sugar, approximately 2 tablespoons at a time, beating well after each addition, until mixture is stiff and shiny and stands in peaks. Fold in remaining ingredients. Drop meringues by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets. Bake 30 minutes. This recipe serves 12 people. Due to the nature of this recipe, it adjusts the number of servings in multiples of 12 only.
