Italian-Style Mince
Prep: 5 min, Cook: 5 min.
  • 1 Tbs. plus 1 tsp. olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 lb. minced beef
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2-3/4 Tbs. tomato paste
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup plus 3 Tbs. green olives, cut in half
  • 2-3/4 Tbs. fresh oregano leaves, chopped

Heat oil in a heavy nonstick pan over medium-high heat until just foaming. Add garlic and mince. Cook 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, until mince is sealed and browned. Add remaining ingredients and continue to cook 3-4 minutes, until mince is tender and sauce is slightly thickened.
