Sloppy Pizza Burgers
Prep: 10 min, Cook: 10 min.
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 3 cups spaghetti sauce
  • 1/4 lb. canned mushrooms
  • 2 Tbs. plus 2 tsp. butter
  • 8 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 8 hamburger buns, sliced in half

Heat a heavy nonreactive skillet over medium high heat. Add meat and cook 5-7 minutes stirring frequently until browned. Drain excess fat and return to heat. Stir in mushrooms and spaghetti sauce until hot. Set aside and keep warm. Turn on broiler. Butter only the top half of burger buns and arrange on a cookie sheet. Divide meat mixture on bottoms of buns and top with cheese slices. Arrange on separate cookie sheet and place under broiler for 1-2 minutes until cheese melts. Place in bottom of oven to keep warm. Broil buttered bun tops 1 minute until golden. Place tops on and serve.
