Temperature

Temperature is a measure of heat. Fahrenheit and Celsius (Centigrade) are two common measures of temperature. To convert Fahrenheit to Celsius, use one of the following formulas (where F = Fahrenheit temperature and C = Celsius temperature):

1. Standard Formula F–32/1.8 = C C x 1.8 +32 = F

2. Plus or Minus 40 Formula Do each part of the equation in order: F + 40 x 5 ÷ 9 – 40 = C C + 40 x 9 ÷ 5 – 40 = F
