Keeping tortillas warm The key to tasty tortillas is to keep them as moist and warm as possible after heating. While the insulated tortilla containers used in Mexican restaurants work well, not everyone has one of these in their home kitchen. And when preparing for a crowd, you do not want to waste tortillas because they have become cold. Try wrapping hot tortillas airtight in foil, place in a cloth or towel and surround with 12 to 14 sheets of newspaper. The tortillas should stay hot for at least 2 hours in the paper wrapping. |
