Salmon Salmon is a popular salt-water fish that spawns in fresh water. There are many types of salmon: Atlantic salmon is firm and typically grilled or roasted. Chinook or king salmon, as well as red salmon, is less firm, oily, and flaky and used in salads and stews. Pink salmon, more common and less expensive, is often used in soups and chowders. Chum salmon is very light and is typically added to cooked dishes. |
