Thawing Frozen Catfish Thawing procedures for frozen U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish (applies to product purchased frozen and/or frozen by the consumer): Frozen U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish can be thawed, either under refrigeration, or cold water, or in a microwave oven. Under refrigeration, let the fish thaw overnight in a covered container or bag. If fish must be thawed quickly, seal fish in a leak-proof bag and immerse in cold water until thawed, or thaw in a covered container in a microwave oven at “low” power (microwave thawing times will vary). It is recommended to use the product the same day it is thawed. Source: The Catfish Institute |
