Your meat thermometer is your indispensable tool when it comes to cooking meat. Peoples tastes vary so if you want your steak, chops or roast to be just right, follow these guidelines with respect to the inside temperature of your meat.
For Beef & Lamb
- Rare 115 to 120°F
- Medium Rare 120 to 125°F
- Medium 130to 135°F
- Medium Well 140 to 145°F
- Well Done 150 to 155°F
For Pork & Fish, the safe internal temperature is 145°F
Note: Ground pork needs to be cooked to a higher temperature of 160°F,
so keep this in mind when making meatloaf or burgers out of ground pork.
For Poultry, the safe internal temperature is 165°F
