Your meat thermometer is indispensable when it comes to cooking meat. People's tastes vary, so if you want your steak, chops or roast to be just right, follow these guidelines with respect to the proper meat wellness temperatures.
Here are your proper meat wellness temperatures
Beef & Lamb
- Rare 115 to 120°F
- Medium-Rare 120 to 125°F
- Medium 130to 135°F
- Medium-Well 140 to 145°F
- Well-Done 150 to 155°F
For Pork & Fish, the safe internal temperature is 145°F
Note: Ground pork needs to be cooked to a higher temperature of 160°F, so keep this in mind when making meatloaf or burgers out of ground pork.
When cooking Poultry, the safe internal temperature is 165°F.
