A larger fillet than our beer battered cod, these moist fillets are a meal in themselves.
Each tender fillet weighs approximately 5 oz. and comes ready to bake. Coated with a blend of bread crumbs, lemon, spices, and a touch of zesty pepper, just pop them in the oven, bake and serve in minutes. A 2-pound bag contains 6 fillets on average.

That's correct, our lemon-breaded cod fillets harken back to the pre-colonial times in our country. Few people realize the important role that cod has played in American history. It was cod that attracted Vikings and Basques from northern Spain to the coast of North America in search of cod to harvest and cure.
In order to preserve the cod for long periods of time, these early explorers would either dry it until it was hard or cure it using salt. Eventually, some of the Europeans who came for short-term fishing trips decided to stay. In time, cod became one of the most sought-after fish in the North Atlantic.
Cod is a good source of heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids and is especially rich in lean protein and vitamin B-12.
